Cores

Cores is a series of three sculptural works created as a continuation of my exploration into the concept of inversion. This series introduced a more dynamic, action-based process. My intention was to deconstruct the traditional form and bring the internal structure to the surface, both conceptually and physically.

To achieve this, I threw clay directly onto fragments from object Pillar of Democracy, using the remnants as both surface and collaborator. This moment of impact, tension and release became central to the work. The resulting forms emerged unpredictably, echoing natural geological formations and suggesting a raw, exposed core.

Through this process, Cores investigates the collapse of external order and the revelation of what lies beneath, both materially and metaphorically.
